You Won’t Believe How People Are Trying to Medicate Their Sick Dogs

Some people are administering medical marijuana to their dogs with the best intentions. But many don't realize this medicinal herb used by humans for pain management and other health related concerns can actually be quite harmful for their pet.

With Marijuana becoming more and more mainstream and with a couple dozen states allowing medical marijuana for use by individuals with various illnesses, the question becomes inevitable: Can aging, sick or “in-pain” dogs benefit from the use of pot?

There are a growing number of interesting and new websites promoting the use of pot for ill canines. Be it advancing age, various aches and pains, or temporary/terminal disease, these advocates claim the benefits from marijuana use extend to our canine friends. They assume that, much like people, unwell dogs of any and every breed and size can gain advantage from ingesting marijuana.

In the interest of honesty and fact checking, we checked a number of these promotional sites and studied them. Then, we checked a prominent vet to find out if he endorsed the medical marijuana idea.
