German Shepherd Skin Allergies: What To Know

Dogs are just like humans in more ways than we think. Like one in particular, allergies. Ever notice your dog rubbing its eyes or constantly battling that itch which can't be unscratched? Those are allergies. Except for dogs, they can't pop into the local pharmacy store and pick up some antihistamine to soothe their allergy pains. Dogs need our help to get them through allergy season.

The most common allergic reaction for dogs is focused on their skin. Their skin becomes irritated just how our eyes become red and itchy or how our throats become scratchy.

Should your dog begin to show signs of an allergic reaction, your first step is to visit your vet to determine if your dog is experiencing an allergy. But, there is more you can do at home to be mindful of these warning signs to help your dog avoid skin allergies.
