It is not something we like to think about. Our poor fur-baby being sick or seriously injured. But this is something we need to ponder over.

After all, more than likely Fido will have a medical problem of some kind during his life, and we need to be prepared.

If you are already seeing a steady vet in a pet hospital with an ER or urgent care you are in a great position. But remember, not all veterinary clinics have full facilities, including boarding, ER, and UC. It’s a good idea to scout which vet with adequate care is closest to you – just in case.

Some emergency situations are not as urgent as others – although some of us can argue that anything hurting our dog is imperative!
