Our dogs are wonderful, affectionate animals. They always greet us with a tail wag and, for our more exuberant pooches, a nuzzle and sloppy kiss. Now, depending on your tongue and wet-cold nose quotient this can often be a highlight of the day!
But now, here is the question. Why is that nose always so wet and cold? And, when it’s not is there a problem? The answers to both questions might surprise you.
The wetness issue is a combination of things. Dogs are always licking their nose. You’ve seen them. That big tongue runs right over it more than a few times a day. Then, a less desirable fact, a pup’s nose also oozes a fine layer of mucus. Yeah – ick! We get it but know it does aid in their tremendous sense of smell.

Good Information. I always thought that if the dog’s nose was wet he/she was sick.
