
Wow! There are so many scary things that can happen to your canine loved one, but this health scare will stop you in your tracks. It's called water intoxication, and it is a rare but lethal condition that can happen from a dog's body absorbing more water than it can handle.
What we know to be true about this fatal condition is that a pup's body responds to a low blood sodium by creating MORE fluid intake inside the cells. What this basically translates to is that a dog's cells cannot accommodate all of the water that's overtaking the body's organs, which ultimately can lead to a dog's death.
This horrific thing happened to a dog who belonged to a dog owner named Denise Flaim of HumaneK9 Inc and she's getting the word out so other dog owners can be aware of water intoxication. Tragically Susan lost her pup Kinetic to this deadly condition, but she using her dog's story for the greater good.
