Training your dog to listen to various commands comes in handy, especially when you're in a bind or need them to listen to you when you have company over.
The same goes for training your pooch to go to their bed and stay there. This command is ideal for situations when you have a lot going on around you and you need to have your dog in one spot. Having them trained to stay in their bed helps keep Fido out of the drama!
“Go to your bed” is actually an easy command to teach. You just need to be consistent with it, have a little patience and provide amble treats.
This command can't be trained overnight though. It's best to start slow and teach your pooch to walk over to their bed FIRST before you have them stay there for an extended period of time.
You'll also need to teach them a release word like “ok” or “done” after they have learned what “go to your bed” and staying there means.
