4 Surprising (Yet Wonderful) Reasons a Dog Should Sleep by His Human’s Side Every Night

We are not ashamed to say our dog sleeps at the end of our bed every night. He is never in or on the bed at any time during the day but, at night, he automatically jumps up, curls around, then settles down for a great night sleep!

This started as a way to keep him calm and content at night. When he was first adopted we thought to keep him in the mud-room at night but he whined because he was afraid. So, we slowly brought him into the bedroom and there he was, comfortable and happy. He simply wanted to be close to us.

And, in doing this, we discovered something else. We slept better too! We are not sure why that happened but, with the dog in the bed, potentially protecting us while we slept, we really felt more confident and relaxed as we fell off to sleep. Amazing as well as practical!
