We always know when our dog is at ease or simply feeling good. When he lays down to nap he rests on his back and his legs fly straight up in the air! We used to think that was unusual and our silly dog was just a unique little woof-woof. Come to find out, it is not so bizarre. We’ve heard from many pet parents who have “crazy leg” dogs that sleep in all sorts of weird positions!
Granted, our dog does this more often in the spring and summer months which makes us think he is keeping cool and “airing out” his belly and genitals, but occasionally even during the cooler months that roll onto the back with stretched out legs happens!
But what does it all man? Why do dogs often roll in balls, flop on their back, our simple lay on their paws with belly on the carpet? Are they trying to tell us something?
Maybe not consciously but we can learn a lot from a dog’s sleeping position. Go over to the next page to learn what that “weird” pose you pup sleeps in means!
