Yummy Grain Free Treats Your Dog Will LOVE!

It’s hearty and it’s healthy and it’s also tried and true. Check out this recipe for a treat your pooch will say cannot be beat!

Butternut Squash Dog Treats
Butternut squash (sliced thinly with a mandolin)
1 tbsp olive oil

Preheat your oven to 250°F.  Slice your butternut squash into strips with a mandolin if you have one (I also use a knife to cut them lengthwise into desired sizes). Put into bowl and pour in olive oil, mix the two together.

Spread the strips onto a pan covered with parchment paper, and bake for 2 1/2 hours. You'll want to flip them while they are cooking at least once, and also keep an eye on them, as the length of time for cooking depends on how thinly you slice them.

Allow to cool, store in fridge in an airtight container up to three weeks, or in freezer up to three months.

These treats are incredibly easy and, as a side note, you can use other vegetables! Try a sweet potato or kale! Just remember that cooking times may vary.

Check out an interesting story over on Three Million Dogs regarding the above recipe and a poor pooch that could only eat certain things. We think you’ll agree that Butternut Squash Dog Treats, for this dog, became manna from Heaven!

We have to emphasize that there are no hidden ingredients in the above recipe. Do your pup a favor and give it a try!
