If Looby Loo would've not recognized the signs that her pet parent Toby was going into diabetic shock, the consequences could have been deadly. Thankfully, however, Looby Loo knew what was happening and woke up Toby's partner, Mary. Go, Looby Loo!
Rescue dog Looby Loo saved the life of Toby Snow when he fell desperately ill and is now being awarded a PDSA Commendation, which recognises outstanding acts of devotion by pets.
The dog’s persistence in waking Mary – who went on to dial 999 at their home in Westham, near Eastbourne, East Sussex – prevented Toby from facing further danger.
Toby said: “I will be forever grateful to our wonderful dog for what she did that night. She was a true friend and her actions definitely helped me out of a very sticky spot.”
“Sticky spot” is putting it mildly! As far as we're concerned Looby Loo saved her owner's life due to her intelligence and love for Toby. Irish Examiner elaborates more on this special story. All we have to say is, it's a good thing that she was awake and alert — thanks to her, her owner is safe and well. We need to have more special canines like her around!
