At one time or another, we have all come into contact with what we might consider as an aggressive dog. You know, the type of pooch that barks and growls when you ring the doorbell of a neighbor’s house or that little yippy dog that chases after the paperboy’s ankle, or even German Police Dogs that are taught to be aggressive to confront and hold a criminal.

But while a lot of these dogs may be reactive they are hardly aggressive. Many pooches are excellent with children, for instance, but when they see another dog encroaching on what it feels is his territory the pup with go nuts.

Then there are the dogs who seem to get along fine with the other dogs and cats in their household, but if a salesman comes to the door, that cool pooch is suddenly ready to tear off an arm!

Dogs are all born with protective instincts, but it neither or necessarily makes them aggressive or vicious. Go over to page two to read up on this interesting and curious subject!
