Although it seems obvious to many and enlightening to some, domesticated animals need their human companions, their affection, protection and guidance, more than most might think. Whether their adopted (or fostered) Mom and/or Dad are five or fifty years old a pet aims to please. Yes, even your independent cat needs security, guidance and love – and training!

However some might wonder if they, as owners or mere observers, possess the skills necessary to make a difference in the life of their canine or feline companion(s). What exactly can we do now that might make a difference in the future of our furry family member or acquaintance?
