It's always a good idea to stay up to date on the latest dog food recalls. If and when you decide on trying a new type of food, first do your research. Currently, there's a well-known dog brand which is recalling a variety of their packages right now.

Part of keeping your pooch healthy is safe is understanding why these items are being recalled. There are a variety of actions you can take to ensure you're buying your dog the best food. Part of this also means staying current on all of the recalls.

    I am far from a millionaire. In fact, I have very little. But I adopt all my animals with the intention of taking the best possible care of them. If you cannot afford to do that then maybe you shouldn’t own animals.

    What’s sold at specialty pet supply stores is now available at pet stores. I know because I used to work for a specialty pet supply store. I do agree that good food should be given to our furkids but who are you or I to judge what someone else can or can’t afford? Telling someone they shouldn’t own an animal just because they can’t afford the food you give your furkid is uncalled for! At least they are being fed!!!!

    Tara, your comments seem unfitting. You are basically saying no one should adopt unless they can feed expensive brands. That seems elitist. Do you feed your children only organic, locally grown foods? Then what you feed them is grocery store food.

    Just because “some” brands under Purina are being recalled does not mean the other brands are the same. That’s why there is a thing called research. What I will feed to my child and my furkids is non of your business. Firstly, I am the parent, I KNOW what is good and what isn’t good. The consumers make the decision on what to buy. But how dare you judge someone just because its what YOU can afford. I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum. Having to buy ol Roy just so my dogs could eat when I wasn’t working but hardly 24hrs a week having to pay my bills on top of it. AND being able to afford blue buff. But I would NEVER look down on someone nor speak to someone the way you are just by what they feed their pup. Its very disrespectful! There is a way to bring awareness to someone and the way you are doing it is not right. Perfect example, we are talking about DOG FOOD and you have the audacity to bring up my unborn child!

    My dog is my kid. Therefore, I have the same responsibility to care for him as a human child. And even if I did have kids, my stance would still be them same…if you cannot provide don’t have kids of any kind!!!

    The funny thing is you are the angry one who started this. I stated my opinion and you reacted. Shows where your own serenity is. I have only laughed at your attempts to discredit my beliefs about how to care for animals. All you do is attack me and complain about people’s financial abilities to care for their animals properly. You never mention any facts about the benefits of using top grade dog food or the dangers of not. You don’t have a leg to stand on.

    Guess I don’t love my 8 dogs as they eat Purina one chicken. Not ashamed to say that is the best I can afford. 5 of them are dogs kept from the pound because family couldn’t keep them. They love me and are happy.

    Maria McDade we do zuchini, summer squash, carrots, celery, apples, occasionally pumkin and chicken. We grow most of the vegetables or freeze them when they are in season. The end of August people will pay YOU to take their zuchini. It is all well balanced, tasty, and good for them.

    Beneful has consistently had recalls I don’t recommend anyone buy it ever.
    I use authority pro and since I have been feeding it to my dogs they’re energy levels and alertness has greatly increased. It’s worth spending extra to keep your dog’s healthy and happy.

    Love hearing so many pugs love Rachel Rays zero grain food because that is the only food my 3 pugs like. I even tried giving them the cheaper rachel ray dog food and they want nothing to do with it. And then their ears got really itchy too. So we are staying grain free. Oh and they love love love nudges for treaters.

    Joyce Weaver Proffitt and I bet your babies are healthy as well? Tara you seriously need to look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself why on earth you have the right to judge someone by what they feed their dogs. And if you actually READ my comment you would have seen where I clearly stated that the better food should be given. But I will NOT tell someone they shouldn’t have their pet because they can not afford blue buffalo or any of the sorts. If the pets are healthy, happy and are loved THAT’S WHAT MATTERS!!! So PLEASE go elsewhere with your judgements. By the way, you have attacked every last person on this thread, nowhere have I attacked you. Attacking is speaking a lie of someone. You have clearly shown the type of person you are!

    You are confused on what an opinion is and what isn’t. You are the impidamy of what is wrong with today’s society. It is sad what people like you have affected everyone else’s lives because you just don’t stop. There is an impulse control issue here, but keep telling yourself I am the one at fault here. It doesn’t bother me and if it helps you to be more comfortable in your own skin, then by all means use it.

You stand by your words by trying to justify them by saying, “attacking is speaking a lie about someone.” You did just that to me multiple times, but whatever because I can care less.     Purina has announced a voluntary recall of certain packages of their Beneful Prepared Meals, Beneful Chopped Blends and Pro Plan Savory Meals brands due to the packaged foods potentially not containing the recommended levels of added vitamins and minerals.
