If you've recently been deployed and have a furry friend at home it's time to make some tough decisions. Of course, you're going to miss your dog, who wouldn't? But it's important to find him a caring and responsible home while you're away.

Think about who would be a good fit for your pup while you're gone and ask them a bunch of questions if needed to ensure they'll both be a good fit for one another.

First you should ask a family member that you know gets along well with your pooch. If they're unable to care for your pet ask a friend. It's more than just pairing your pet with someone he likes, however.

Your family member's schedule needs to fit your dog's needs too. Ask lots of questions and put your pup's needs first, they need to be well taken care of while you're away.
