Holiday Foods That You Should NEVER Feed Your Pooch

Most veterinarians will agree that you should never feed your dog chocolate. That is pretty much common knowledge for the rest of us, but we must also be aware of foods that could harm our pets.

We all like to over-indulge in food at Christmas but when it comes to our pets, encouraging them to join in can lead to serious health problems.

Food which is dangerous to dogs includes:

• Dates
• Grapes
• Mince pies
• Christmas puddings
• Whole Brazil nuts
• Excessive amounts of cheese
• Alcohol
• Onion
• Raw potato (green)
• Turkey bones
• High content cocoa chocolate
• Holly berries
• Xylitol-based sweeteners

We know it’s difficult to look at those cute faces and not feed your furry family member, but use some restraint because although it may seem cruel to deprive them of holiday goodies, not giving them these foods is being a responsible owner. What we choose not to give them can save their lives!
