
Most of us don't care if our pooch is a little chubby. After all, diets are for people, right? Well, not exactly.
It's not about whether or not we want our dog to look a certain way. It's about having a healthy dog. Studies show that overweight dogs live a reduced lifespan and often suffer from a variety of health problems that stem directly from their weight. Since dog's rely on their owners to take care of them, this means we're the ones in control of their health and their future.
First things first: Stop saying “but he's cute!” Your dog being adorable was never in question. Chubby or skinny, we love our dogs! But their health should be our primary concern. We want them around for as long as possible, right? And not only that, but we want their quality of life to be enjoyable, too!
