Whether your dog has contracted parasites or worms, seeing your precious pooch ill is difficult to watch. Not to mention your doggy has a hard time being sick and infected by the host that is invading her body. Having your pooch very ill is something no pet parent wants to experience because every pet parent desires to have a healthy doggy.
Your doggy can stay healthy if you stay on top of the latest heartworm and parasite news, and if you can learn to recognize the signs. If you've currently been lax on a heartworm prevention treatment for your dog, don't panic. It's not too late to make an appointment with your local vet so they can test your pooch for possible ailments. If everything shows up normal, then you can start your pooch on an appropriate heartworm prevention treatment.
If your doggy should happen to come down with heartworm in the future, there are symptoms to recognize. A few include a slight cough that can develop into a more severe cough. Another sign is if your doggy gets extremely fatigued after exercise or does not want to exercise at all.
These are just a few symptoms of heartworm, and there are many more to learn about on the next page.
