My Dog Is Eating Grass - Does That Mean He's Sick?

Your pooch is doing it again…eating grass. So weird, right?! You can't understand why your pup gravitates towards it — are they bored? Do they like the earthy taste of it? Actually, quite possibly it could be both!

Farm animals often graze on grass in fields and this is normal for them. Clearly it's not causing those animals any harm, so is it safe to assume that it's not harmful to dogs?

There are strange things that dogs do sometimes, and eating grass is one of them. Even though we're not 100% of the reason dogs consume grass each time that they do it, we DO know it's okay as long as it's not in excess.

A little bit of grass is okay, but too much can be harmful, especially if it has chemicals on it. Make sure you never leave your dog alone where grass has been treated.
