Why Having a Fur Child is the New Trend, as Opposed to Having a “Real” Child

While we would never say dogs are the new children we have to admit they are a wonderful alternative. And, for some of us, dogs are the best solution whereas a lifestyle with children may not be in the cards!

According to an article by New York Post that dates back to 2014, America’s next generation of youngsters should be called “Generation Rex.”

If you’re wondering why playgrounds around the city are so quiet and dog runs are packed, a new report has an answer: More and more US women are forgoing motherhood and getting their maternal kicks by owning handbag-size canines.

As per the article as well, some data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that a big drop in the number of babies born to women ages 15 to 29 corresponds with a huge increase in the number of tiny pooches owned by young US women, reports the business-news site Quartz.

Again, we would never tell a man or woman who wanted to have a baby that they are in the wrong but thanks to the great information on Ur Dogs we think it’s important to recognize that not everyone is cut out for human parenthood – but adopting a dog?

While not always inexpensive, especially when that vet bill shows up, dogs are still an option not to be rule out! Cuddly and sweet, a dog loves to be there for you through thick and thin!

  1. 100% After raising my son and he was on his own. Instead of having another human child we have three fur kids – 2 pugs and a Boston Terrier. They act just like human children. Never a dull moment.

  2. Having fur babies and/or human babies shouldn’t be done as a trend!!!! That’s dumb. Different families look different. Some have people kids, some have “pets”, some have “furry kids” or any combination of them…. Or none… But I think it’s silly to consider family structure as a trend…. Never was. Never will be.

  3. Fur babies are so much better than having human kids. Fur babies are a hell of a lot cheaper. You only have to take them to the vet once a year at the least. You don’t have to buy clothes or shoes, pay a sitter, or send to school.
