The Great Cloning Debate… Would You Clone Your Pooch?

two pugs side by side

When we adopt a pooch we have to remind ourselves that although we will love them like they're a part of the family they more than likely will not survive us. A dog’s time on Earth is – sadly – shorter than our own.

However, if you ever had the opportunity to bring your dog back to life so you can have him or her for another ten to sixteen years – would you take it?

Sooam Biotech in South Korea’s started a cloning laboratory in 2006. The first clone to come from this lab was Missy, a dog. Although it is not necessarily open to the public, it was an interesting idea whereas if you save some of your pooch’s skin cells — and $100,000 – your passed away pooch could be brought back to you, alive and well!

Questions arise every time cloning is brought up during typical conversations. Is it right? Should the money be used elsewhere?

Go on over to page two to read more about this interesting and controversial topic.
