So men, the next time you feel you need to boost your sex appeal try bringing your pooch along with you. You never know what woman's heart you may win! To women, a man caring for his doggy is an alluring and attractive trait.

Many men and and women will attest to the fact there is something alluringly sexy about a handsome man caring for a dog.

Now a new survey has confirmed this appeal.

Researchers at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas teamed up with pet store chain PetSmart to quiz 1,210 single pet owners via online dating site Match.com, Psychology Today reported.

The online survey consisted of 21 questions about pets and dating.

The study, which is set to be published in an upcoming copy of the journal Anthrozoƶs, revealed 35 per cent of women and 26 per cent of men said they have been more attracted to someone because of their pet.

Demonstrating the effect of a pet as a signifier of a person's caring nature, 64 per cent of women and 49 per cent of men added they were more attracted to a person if they owned a rescue animal.

The survey also shed light on the sexiest pet a man can own.

The vast majority of women said a dog is most attractive.

I find it interesting that out of all pets, the vast majority of women said that owning a dog is the most attractive. It makes sense since a ‘dog is a man's best friend,' and that men like to find a partner who loves their dog as much as them. Plus, if a man owns a rescue dog this may also be an extra attractive factor that draw women in. For more on these insightful findings on this recent study, visit DailyMail.com.

  1. Owning and showing the love for your dog is really such a turn on. Women see it as a way that a man can be a good father to their child if they have one together. I just think it is so sweet.
