10 Realities New Pug Owners Must Learn to Embrace

5) Pugs are very food driven and in some cases may guard their food. Since they tend to love food so much, this can sometimes lead to aggression. 6) Do you live in a cold climate? Then you should be aware that most Pugs hate cold weather. Sure, there's the dog that's not fond of cold weather, but then there's a Pug. Many Pugs so strongly dislike the cold weather that they will resist excreting outside in the cold, rain or wind.

Translation: Your Pug may refuse to go to the bathroom outdoors if the weather isn't behaving outside. You better think of an indoor potty solution if this turns out to be the case for your Pug!
