The Loss of a Pet: A Beautiful Tribute to a Pug Named Bruce

Pugs Bruce and Willy

Anyone who has ever had a dog as a child will know what it is like to grow up with the pup and, one day, see him or her leave us. It’s just a fact of life, as sad as it is, that human beings will outlive their pets.

This is particularly true when your pup is ill and a veterinarian tells you he does not have long to live. As the adult you have to set an example to your kids, hoping they will understand this sad time.

But what if your pup’s best friend is another dog, a “brother” that has been through everything with said ill dog?

Bruce, the dog with cancer, and Willy, his best friend, were an inseparable twosome and Bruce’s human “Mom” suspected there might be problems once Bruce passed away. And she was right. Human beings are not the only creatures that mourn.
