Do you tether your dog? Some pet owners have to tether their pooch for a variety of reasons — they need to run into a store, their dog makes a mess in their home, or it's easier to take care of household chores while their pooch is outside.
Tethering is sometimes necessary, but should not be used regularly.
Even though there are responsible pet parents who tether their dogs occasionally, there are also irresponsible dog owners as well.
These type of owners don't care about chaining and leaving their dog out in the scorching sun for hours or days on end. Shame on them!
This is why in Nashville a proposal is being considered to stop owners from chaining their dogs outside under certain circumstances such as extreme heat or cold weather.
