Dog Kisses Are GOOD For You! Wait… WHAT?!

Currently, there's a study happening at the University of Arizona. There are many adults over the age of 50 that are paired with pups who need a home and are a part of the study. The university is closely observing both the pups and the pet sitters, seeing how the close contact between them affects the caretakers.

Researchers at the University of Arizona regarding to The Independent reports that the tiny microbes in a dog’s gut may have a probiotic effect on humans.
Some of the useful bacteria help to keep our digestive and immune system in good health.

Researchers at UA decided to prove the theory by making a study that pairs adults 50 years or older with rescue pups from The Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

Because good relation between dogs and humans is very important for the research volunteers can choose their study-fellow. At the end of the trial, the participants will have the option to adopt the pawticipants.

Our furry friends could help replenish some of those microbes. Raison says, “We think dogs might work as probiotics to enhance the health of the bacteria that live in our guts.”

The bond we share with our fur babies may be more than emotional. It’s likely physical, too.

If all goes well this may mean that a dog's saliva and close contact to humans are actually healing agents. This will be big news and will get rid of the taboo that puppy kisses are full of germs! We hope the study goes well! No matter what the results are (check out Ur Dogs for more), we'll never turn away puppy kisses, especially from Pugs!
