Cues Fur Babies Pick up on to Comfort Their Humans

pug sad

During those days when we are blue, when something is deeply troubling us, we really need to take a good look at our dog.

How we are feeling at times really is not our fault, especially with all the stresses a normal human being finds him or herself under, but Fido picks up on our sadness. Once he picks up on us being sad he’ll often be there for us even if we're oblivious to that.

We recall back a few years ago when our older sister was ill and dying. We tried to keep it together but after her death, we were understandably blue. Our pooch sensed it and he sat where we sat, stared at us a little longer, and even cuddled next to us during a crying session. Max was our rock whether he knew it or not.

Anyone who says dogs “don’t get it,” are wrong. They do understand and even when your irritation during those times chases them away they will come back and, in their own doggy way, will try to help you cope.

After the break visit the next page and check out the cues our dogs pick up on to comfort us in our time of need!

  1. Dogs really pick up on your emotions. They seem to reach out and give more affection when you are sick or upset. My dogs have given me kisses and stayed right by my side when I have felt sick or sad. They are great comforters. They can teach us humans a thing or two!

  2. Our little pug was with us from the time my son was in fifth grade till he got his masters degree and she was 17 years old. Hendi was his dog and did not hesitate to.make it known. Every joy every sorrow every family event was shared. It has been six years and there will never be another Hendi.

  3. My pug knows when I’m having a flare up with my multiple sclerosis … He has just known since day 1, 6 yrs ago.
It’s absolutely amazing to me . I couldn’t make it through the tough days without my love pug!
