Before Purchasing a ‘Designer Dog,’ Read About These Shocking and Revealing Findings…

buying a pug puppy

Make sure you know where your pup comes from! You'll be shocked at these findings!

The RSPCA has issued a stark warning that our desire for fashionable breeds of dogs is ‘fuelling puppy farms in the UK' revealing that an estimated 430,000 young dogs come from unlicensed UK breeders each year.

The pups are then being sold on by unlicensed breeders who produce fake documentation and take them to a false home to make it seem like the animal has been bred and lived there.

But another concern is that the RSPCA is seeing more and more cases of health problems affecting the puppies being sold, and it is thought that 20% of puppies bought on the internet will die within six months.

Buying a puppy from a breeder
Always make sure that you see mum and her pups together, and never buy a puppy if you have doubts about the breeder or situation.

You can also get the RSPCA's Puppy Contract. This will mean that you and the seller can complete the Puppy Information Pack (PIP) which you will both sign, and as the PIP is referenced in the contract, it has legal force, meaning that there are legal consequences if any of the information is inaccurate.

Visiting the breeder and meeting the puppies

Always take your time when visiting the puppies
Make sure you see the puppies’ mum healthy.
Look for clues that the puppy was actually born there.
Ask to see certificates of screening for problem diseases, vaccination and microchipping records.

Don't buy the puppy on your first visit.

And finally, you'll need to make sure that you guide and train them to develop into happy and much loved companions.

With this information, you'll be able to shop smart and end up with a healthy puppy. You'll feel better knowing that your puppy did not come from a puppy mill and you didn't contribute to cruelty!

  1. With a brain and a little research it’s NOT hard too see a puppy mill. Some folks don’t mind looking the other way if THIER puppy is healthy, and it’s the right $. I recently inquired about a bulldog @ my local pet shop (support small locals). His words “what color and sex? I can call our wholesaler. ” I’m good then because it has too be a mill. Where else do they have puppies laying about for sale?

  2. I bought our pug from a old Amish farmer whose son’s female got pregnant while visiting the neighboring farms promiscuous male. We met the mom and dad and the six pups. Very clean home and the pups had the run of heated sewing room of the basement. Dogs were also AKC registered.
