Growling may seem like a naughty behavior for a dog, but it isn't. She's trying to tell you something with that growl and usually it's “Mom, I'm scared,” or “Mom, I'm not sure about this situation.” Listen to what your fur child is trying to tell you and never punish her for it.
The same goes with chewing. If your dog loves to chew, check out the tips below. The last thing you want her to chew on is everything… and then later get mad at her when you find her chewing on your favorite pair of heels!

3) Growl about it
Growling is one of the few ways a dog can communicate that they feel threatened or scared. You should never punish a dog for growling. If your dog is growling at something or someone, immediately remove your dog from the situation and DO NOT punish them.
4) Chew on this
Dogs don’t just have a desire to chew, they have a need to chew! Providing your dog with plenty of chew toys is the first step, but unfortunately not the last. Dogs need constant reminding of what is okay to chew and what isn’t. Keep anything you don’t want your dog to chew off the floor! If you do catch your dog chewing on something off-limits, redirect him with a few cues (sit, down, touch), and then replace the item with one of their chew toys.
It's easy to take advantage of command words and use them all the time. But when that emergency situation ever comes, that word will be the most important word ever, and if you've overused it so many times, you might be in trouble if she doesn't listen.
Here's how you should treat command words and how you can use them to your advantage after the break.

Dogs use scent like we use the written word. Their endless snuffing is finding out about their world – a newspaper, as it were. Making them walk and not letting them sniff is cruel.

My pug had been badly abused before I got him. He was 8 months old. It took him a year to bark. He is the King of my castle. He is almost 10 years old. I would not trade him for the world!!

They sure are. The woman that had him wanted him to breed. He was 8 months old. You can see the burn marks on his legs. A friend of mine wanted him. He kept him one night. I could tell he was scared of his shadow. I felt sorry for . I’m a cat person. His sad face got me.

We dont do any of this to our 4 Pugs. Our babies always get treats when they sit tho because it took forever for us to teach them that. And we get them to come to us by calling their names and patting our knees. I love cuddling all 4 of my babies. They smell bad, but its worth it! 🙂 <3
