If your dog gets stung by a bee there's no reason to panic, though, some may have more of a reaction than others. Luckily there are a few things you can do if he gets stung. So, don't worry! You can help your bee-stung doggy friend.
It's a typical sun-drenched day and your dog is soaking up everything about summer.
Dancing with butterflies. And then … stung by a bee.
Many humans know that sensation all too well — a short, sharp jab and then fire in the veins. For those of us with allergies, a bee sting can be more than a passing EIEEIEIEIEYA!
“In general, dogs and cats have a similar reaction to bee stings as humans,” Erika Loftin, a critical care specialist at DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital, tells The Dodo. “For most animals, the sting will usually result in painful, local swelling.”
Give it about 24 hours, she adds, and that swelling should ease up. But, as with humans, things can get a lot worse if your pet has an allergic reaction to the sting.
Major swelling and vomiting will need an immediate trip to your local veterinarian.“It is possible for a pet to go into anaphylactic shock resulting from a bee sting, so it's important to get them treated as soon as possible,” Loftin says.
Whether your pet has allergies or not, it's also a good idea to have a bottle of Benadryl, or any generic version, handy. While Benadryl is frequently bandied about on internet forums as a treatment for bee stings in animals, it was made for humans.
Well, let's all hope that none of our pooches get stung by bees anytime soon! However, be extra cautious since the warmer months are here and your doggy will spend a lot more time outdoors!

I know to use benadryl, and my Lola responds well to it for allergies. But, she’s almost 10 and had never been stung. She’s not very active outside though. She just likes to sun bathe.

My poor little guy got stung on the foot about 2 years ago. It was a very sad swollen foot for a bit and he was a very sad puggle for a few hours. Poor baby jumped several feet in the air and yelped when it happened.

Use a ripe tomatoe cut it in half and rub it where he has been bitten the swelling goes down straight away. Have faith it does work.
