These Incredible Service Dogs Will Make Your Heart Melt

When we think of service dogs for special needs the first thing our minds goes to is the “Seeing Eye Dog” for the blind. However, there are far more uses for a service dog – not to mention many more disabilities.

Four Paws for Ability in Ohio is a wonderful facility that brings up dogs, practically from birth, to be helpful service animals. They use mostly Golden Retrievers and Labradors to undertake such things as opening doors, turning light off and on and, more importantly, having them there for a child that might have seizures or tendencies to pull their own hair; autism or Down Syndrome children as well.

And children truly are the focus. The founder of Four Paws for Ability states she was met with resistance, told a child with special needs will not know how to handle a dog. However, with a 90% success rate that statement has been proven untrue.
