How the Know if it’s the Right Time to Say Goodbye to Your Furry Best Friend

Watching your doggie through the years and then suddenly realizing she's not as fast as she used to be is common. Eventually, this had to take place. There will come a time when your pooch's quality of life will be quite different. She may have recently gone blind, injured her foot, displaced a hip, or is experiencing other physical ailments that take place as she ages.

When the time comes, you will need to ask yourself some tough questions. These questions will be base on whether it will be kinder to let your fur baby go peacefully or hold onto her during the rough times ahead.

If it's the latter — think about if you will be doing your dog a kindness by keeping her alive if she's suffering.

Consulting with a veterinarian is a wise idea, as most of them will be honest with you about your dog's current condition. However, ultimately it will be up to you to make the final decision. A vet will provide you with medication for as long your dog will take them but eventually, your vet will tell you that it's time and at that point, you will have to make a difficult decision.

When that point comes you will need to ask yourself point blank questions about your fur baby's well-being.

On the next page read through a series of questions. These questions will help you weigh in the positives versus the negatives. It's vital to be honest with yourself — and the fur baby who loves you.

  1. Having lost three beautiful pugs that I loved more than life itself has been one of the hardest times that I have endured in my life. Losing them because I was married to a monster and he would not allow immunizations and they die from Parvo is unforgivable. I am the one that decided that enough is enough and it will kill me for the rest of my life. One lived only a year after they saved her. By the time I returned from the kitchen to bring boiling water she died in my Son’s arms. She was hiding under the table so swollen.

And to make this article even more heart wrenching they just had to have a picture of a little pug.

They are all so beautiful and all I see is an innocent little soul in their eyes that love us unconditionally.

My Droopy is getting older and I worry so much about him. He is treated like a baby and so smart sometimes I wonder who takes care of who.

This article is so great every pet owner should read it. I just hope and pray to God not only I, but no one should be put in a position to make a decision like that. 🙁
