9. Seeking Attention and Withdrawing 

Some dogs when they are in pain or sick try to stay away from their owners or may even hide. Others will want attention constantly.

If your dog favors one person in your family, watch them together and observe whether he's trailing her around more than normal. He may also whine or refuse to leave that person's lap. Signs like this are important to look out for because your doggie is likely trying to tell you that he's in pain and needs your help.
