10 Realities a Pug Owner Must Learn to Accept

happy Pug

If you are a Pug parent or adore this breed in general, then you know that Pugs are irresistible and very easy to fall in love with. Not only that, but this doggie can tug at your heart strings like no other.

If you're considering adopting a Pug and bringing him into your family, you may or may not be aware that Pugs thrive on being the center of attention. They truly are the life of the party!

This doggie breed has a HUGE personality, and when they interact with larger dogs, the size difference between them does not even phase most Pugs. Usually, they will want to be friends or show the larger dog who is in charge! Ha ha!

Pugs are sassy and lovable, but they also take a lot of work and are a full-time job. Your Pug may struggle with anxiety, and there will be times that you wished that wasn't so. If you can't commit a lot of time to this loving doggie, a Pug may not be for you.

If and when you get a Pug expect to laugh. A lot. In addition to laughing and loving on your pup, there are some more realities you should accept about your fur baby.

This much is true: A Pug doggie is worthy of your love and will live for giving you just as much love (if not more) in return!

After the break, read about some important factors you must understand about your Pug baby. Also, learn what a Pug requires (this is important to read whether you're a seasoned Pug owner or not), and then you'll know what having a Pug is all about.

  1. When Chesty does the Pug Stare it is generally because I caught him doing something he isnt supposed to do, so he thinks that if he stares at me hard that I will let him do it. I just stare back at him unblinkingly. After about a min or two he gives up LOL!

  2. I <3 my pug. I was there the night she was born, and she was mine at first sight. She is now 15 years old, deaf and going blind. She is on meds for her hips, but she does not give up. Eats everything in sight. Vet says she is still healthy at 76 human years.

  3. Yes. They are truly little aliens from another planet. They think they are German Shepards, they think they are vacuum cleaners, they believe they are part piglets and they expect you to stop everything you are doing and love them. They way they love you.
