A well-trained dog is a good dog. We often pride ourselves on the cute trick and listening skills our dogs possess but often, when they do something wrong, we immediately get upset at their flights of fancy.

The truth is… it may not be all your dog’s fault.

A good example is for years a pet owner had a dog that jumped into the car with her on a regular basis after the gate in front of her home was open. One day, without thinking, the gate was open and out ran the dog, looking for a car to jump into and – not seeing one – he ran down the block to a neighbor’s house.

How frustrating (and frightening) was that? Very, and the owner was angry, but the poor dog should not have been blamed. He was presented with something out of the ordinary and, unable to focus; he did the next best thing – he ran to find a friend!

On page two you will find four reasons why your pooch might push your buttons — but really you're to blame!
