How To Properly Break Up A Dog Fight Without Getting Hurt

Watching your dog get into a fight with another dog can be scary and unpredictable depending on the situation and location. Even though your immediate reaction may feel like your heart done a back-flip into your throat, you should know that not all dog fights end in injury and depending on the dogs it may just be how they are choosing to argue and show dominance towards one another.

Obviously though when things begin to escalate outside the norm, its a good idea to break up the fight in order to prevent risk, injury or an escalated situation that could get worse.

Also, a key factor is to be able to anticipate if and when a fight may take place. That might sounds like we're asking you to look into your crystal ball. Don't worry, it's easier than you think.

You can do this by watching your pup's body language and by knowing what your dogs triggers are. Understanding what sets your doggy off (such as not liking to share a toy or food with another furry friend) can help prevent a fight from taking place.
