Got A Hyper Pug? Wear Them Out With These Fun Activities!

Is your dog hyper? Do they bounce around like balls of energy when you come home from work? Does it seem like they have trouble winding down at the end of the day when it's time for bed? If so… you're not alone.

Lots of pug owners out there have “hyper babies”. But there are things you can do that will help burn that energy so they (and you!) can get a peaceful nights sleep.

Case in point….

When I first got Zoey, she had so much energy. My friend's pug had a litter and I picked Zoey because she was so adventurous. The other puppies were timid about jumping off the sofa. But not Zoey. She practically ran off the edge like she was a skilled skydiver. She had no fear. And I fell in love with her instantly.

I figured she was hyper because she was a puppy. After all, aren't all puppies hyper? Well, it's been two years now and Zoey has the same amount of energy today as she did as when she was a teeny tiny tater tot. I've been reading a LOT about hyper dogs online and found some really useful ideas that I put to use.

And you know what? They actually work.

If you wanna hear what worked for Zoey and me, head over to the next page and I'll break it down for you!

  1. Until the age of three, they are just going to be hyper. Playing helps of course, but let a new person come to visit and they are goi g to get excited at the prospect of a new person to play with.
Not everyone is suited to have a pug, but oh those of us that are, could not live without them!!!!!!
Many people just aren’t suited to get a puppy of any breed, because they lack the patience to train one. There is an excellent option, adopt a senior dog. Even senior pugs whose owner died, are mellow and most likely house trained.
If you have several dogs already, understand a dog from a single dog and single owner home is going to have an adjustment to becoming a member of a family pack.
Your life is richly enhanced by the love of a dog.

  2. Please don’t tell people to run with their pugs. Pugs have short snouts which make it harder for them to cool off meaning it is very easy for them to overheat, which in extreme cases could kill them.
