A confident dog is a happy dog. But sometimes, without reason, they can become timid, shy and even scared. People don't enjoy feeling that way and our dogs are no different.

Dogs follow our lead. If we, as owners do not take steps to help them build self-confidence, then shyness and timidity can develop as the young dog matures.

Where does one start? Sometimes it is simply insuring proper introduction to different people, animals, places and things during the prime of puppyhood.

There is a peak socialization period where a crossroad is reached. One directions leads to self-reliance, the other trails off into reticence. Your dog follows your lead…so where will you lead them?
