We’ve stated before that life is tough on a dog.
Others disagree, asserting how a cherished pooch is spoiled with her dog bed, snacks, and unconditional love. True that. However, for those dogs that live in cooler climates, in the eastern region of the USA where there is snow, even the simplest thing – like relieving themselves – is a chore.
It is not as if a dog has the luxury of a bathroom with plumbing. They still need that walk or the ability just to run outside to do their business; and when the snow is up to a human’s hip that makes it hard on dogs.
Particularly if they are a smaller pup like a pug.
On the second page take a look at this comical but also somewhat poignant video of a precious pug who's just trying to take a potty break – in the snow.
And you thought you had problems!

This owner is not very nice. Why would he not shovel for his pug??? And then to laugh when he falls? Not cool at all.

Its cruel for a dog to go outside to go to the bathroom? I have two pugs and live in Colorado so needless to say its cold and snows often and my dogs have to go outside and walk in it and guess what? They are fine. Pugs have attitude and personality but this pug isn’t in any harm she’s just annoyed at the fact that there is snow. Clam down Donna, I love my pugs too but they are dogs and can survive outside bathroom breaks.

Eh he’s not that miserable the tail is still up and wrinkles. My pug, the other 4 pugs my family has had and every other one I’ve known if they get miserable the tail goes down and the wrinkles on the head sort of disappear. My little one sometimes likes to tunnel other times refuses to set foot out there until I’ve shoveled (and swept) an area for her little paws.

My pug is a rescue from the South so this is her first snowstorm. I’m very concerned because she has not gone in over 24 hours. I
take her outside my building and she runs right back to the door waiting for me to open it so she can go right back inside. She goes to sit and pops right back up from the cold on her bottom. I’m worried she will burst.

Mine has her tail down and hates it and even with a shoveled area of grass showing she still won’t go.

Monique McCaughan Carpenter I couldn’t sleep all night worrying about her. She still is not going. I have walked her all around the complex on the road part where the snow has been plowed. Her tail is down and she is miserable. She has not gone since 930pm Friday night!!
