Just like a human's ears, a dog's ears are also sensitive. You should never use Q-Tips because you could injure Fido's ears. Also, you should also be extremely gentle while cleaning his ears too. Here are more tips below:

There are three important things that you need to know about dogs’ ears:

1. They’re sensitive, so they need regular maintenance to prevent infections.
2. Dogs don’t want their ears cleaned, so you’re going to have to work with them.
3. If you don’t do it the right way, you can cause serious damage.

Make it positive
Unless you want a squirmy pooch that makes the process a lot more difficult — and take a lot longer — it’s important to bring your dog along slowly and associate ear-cleaning with something positive.

Get the right tools
Perhaps the most important tool, though, is the ear rinse. You want one that’s completely safe for your dog but still able to get the job done.

    I use apple cider vinegar in my pugs ears , also if she shows any sign of ear itching I break up a inner health plus & put it into her meat . We steer clear of dog biscuits & tinned foods full of preservatives she has chicken. with veg & a bone to chew on. She is happy , robust & healthy
