At first Chaos wouldn't even let her furry kitten near the other dog named Atilla. But after a week or so, Atilla is allowed near the kitten, and now both watch dogs love watching over her! How sweet is that?!
Two large female guard dogs living with a family in the tiny Grant County town of Mt. Vernon have “adopted” an orphaned kitten.
Dog owner Tiffany Hull said about six weeks ago one of the females, a kelpie mix named Chaos, brought a kitten in her mouth from the family’s backyard.
The kitten was likely about a week old — his eyes were still closed, Hull said. They named him Jake.
Since then, both dogs have mothered the kitten. They lick him clean, let him play on top of them, and snuggle with him.
She found out this month she’s pregnant herself, so she’s hoping the dogs will love and protect her baby, too.
If not for Chaos, this abandoned kitten named Jake would have never found a home. Now not only does this kitten get the best of care by two gentle guard dogs and a human family, but she also gets to play with the pups too! Often Jake is found sleeping with her furry dog friends or playing with them. Even though no one would have thought of these two large dogs taking in a kitten of all animals, they're the best of friends. What a beautiful story from Seattle Times with a happy ending!
