While some might scoff at the idea of tiger cubs being nursed by dogs, possibly even point out that tigers should be out in the wild, we have to commend the Oktyabrsky Health Resort in Sochi, on western Russia's Black Sea coast. They saw a problem and decided to somehow fix it!
The tiger cubs were abandoned by their mother for some unknown reason. Concerned, they were picked up by staff members and cared for. They needed to be suckled but there were no handy tigers about willing to do the job. What to do?
As it turns out, the wet nurses they found were not felines but a couple of loving and lactating adult pugs that seemed to be more than happy to step up for a good cause. It’s not the first time something like this has happened but rather interesting when you realize these tigers when full grown, will be ten times bigger than the pugs!
