Marine Runs Into a Burning House to Save a Pug. OMG, What a Hero!

Fear and anxiety were placed on the back burner – no pun intended – when a heroic former Marine saw she was needed. Let’s allow Destiny tell you, in her own words, how the rescue went down:

The two women stopped and ran to the house, banging on the doors and windows of the home. Although there was no answer, Goddu, a former Marine Corps Sergeant, was worried the home was still occupied.

“I didn’t know if someone was trapped, sleeping or if they maybe had a heart attack while cooking,” Goddu said. “I had to make sure everyone had gotten out.”

Goddu ran to the backyard and opened the rear sliding glass door.

“The house was filled with smoke, but I could see something moving.” Goddu said.
After calling inside the home, a terrified pug ran toward Goddu but then fled back into the house. Without hesitating, Goddu ran into the smoke-filled home and rescued the family pet.
“The dog was coughing, spitting and shaking,” Goddu said.

Fire officials say a next-door neighbor saw the fire and called 911. No one else was home at the time of the fire.

The fire department did arrive and, thankfully, the fire was extinguished within an hour. However, we have to wonder what might have happened to that poor Pug if this brave woman did not take charge and pull him out before the house was completely engulfed!

    that only shows that the United States Marine does not only protect and serve the American people, they protect and serve and save all creatures in American soil. so i do not understand why there are still people who want or even think of pissing off United States. don’t they know what United States Marine

    The most kisses I ever got from my boy was the first time I was away from him for about 4 months. He sat on my lap on the ride home and kept looking back and checking to see if it was me and giving me kisses.

    My Puggy Dantae will be 16 years young this July. I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old. He snores like a champ. (Sweet music to my ears! lol)Can not imagine my life w/out him! He’s got glaucoma now, doesn’t see very well but that does not stop him! His baby bulldog brother looks out for him & helps guide him around. You are a true hero! Thanks for saving that precious Puggy! <3

    “We do not recommend that anyone enter a burning home to rescue a pet, but remain at the front of the residence to give the information to the first arriving fire engine,” Miller said. OH HELL NO! If my babies are in danger, I’m going in!!!
