When it's cold outside you can always have a doggy get together in your home! Invite a few of your pooch's favorite buddies and they'll have fun running around! Just don't let them get too rowdy or they may annoy your neighbors! 😉
1. Fetch
Most dogs love the classic game of fetch. Keep distance and throw a ball or rubber toy for him to to catch, find and retrieve. This will keep him super entertained while you sit back, relax and enjoy watching your dog still having a great time indoors.

2. Up and down the stairs
Another great way to exercise your dog indoors is to make him run up and down the stairs (if you have stairs). It uses more muscles in the dog’s body as a regular walk or run does because he carries his entire weight up and down. You can throw a toy from the top of the stairs so he walk up whenever he has to give the toy back to you.

3. Play date
You can ask one of your friends to come over and bring her dog for a playdate, or you can go over to her house instead. Your dog may love you so much but they also like playing with their own kind because they have their own games and rules.

4. Treat dispensing toys
This is another fun way for your dog to keep active. Your dog will be so busy pushing and dragging the treat dispensing toy all day that he’ll eventually tire out in the process. Dogs can be quite persistent when it comes to getting their favorite treat.
5. Indoor obstacle courses
This is a great way to challenge your dog physically and mentally. You’ll be surprised how much stuff just laying in your house can be used to create an obstacle course. Cushions, hula hoops and boxes can be used for this really fun game. Guide your dog as he navigates through the obstacle course and reward him every time he finishes an obstacle.

6. Tug of war
Another classic game that dogs love. You can play this with your dog while sitting down in the couch. Keep in mind tug of war unleashes the predator in dogs and this game can easily go sour if you don’t trust and respect each other. You have to be sure that you have total control over your dog and can snap him out of predator mode before you engage in this risky game.

Other ways to thoroughly exercise Fido includes hiding treats and teaching him to find them. Also, run up and down the stairs with him. At first, he may look at you like you're nuts, but if you set up treats occasionally at the top and bottom of the staircase, he will get the hint. Soon “exercising” on the steps will become a fun way for you two to interact and get exercise simultaneously!
I'm sure you can think of additional ingenious ways to exercise your furry best friend when the weather isn't your friend. Plus, sites like Just Man's Best Friend For Life can provide more tips on how to keep your pooch active inside!
