High-maintenance dog breeds are generally classified as taking a long time to train, require a lot of grooming, need exercise all of the time and a few other things. You may also find a diva dog is shedding all over your sofa, which is creating more work for you in your home.
Here's a list of TOP diva dogs. Whether your pet is on this list or not, they still can be high maintenance depending on their temperament and breed.
10. English Springer Spaniel
9. Shelestie
8. Silkland Terrier
7. Collie
6. Bouvier des Flanders
5. Cesky Terrier
4. Cocker Spaniel
3. Bearded Collie
2. Cocker Spaniel
1. Anatolian Pyrenees
Even though the Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier breeds didn't make the full list that you can check out on Pet Breeds, they are definitely high-maintenance. Some don't like being left alone by their humans, take a long time at the groomers, require a lot of walks because they have a ton of energy, and the list goes on for these small and intelligent dogs.
A high-maintenance dog is not only defined by how long they take to groom, train, and exercise. Your dog may be considered a diva simply because they know they can get away with it or are just incredibly loved.
The bottom line is having a diva dog isn't a bad thing. High-maintenance dogs are a lot of work, but we all know they are worth it!
