So often we see would-be pet parents who do not quit understand the time and energy it takes to train a dog. Just recently a friend of ours adopted a beautiful older dog but ended up sending him back after a couple of weeks because he was “not working out”.

It broke our heart because, although a digger, the dog was happy and well adjusted. He was trainable. Sometimes it just takes longer. Patience is a key when it comes to training and more often than not, it’s not the dog but, sorry to say, the trainer.

Not that we are belittling pet parents and/or trainers. It’s a tough job. However, if you take time, work with your dog every day, results will come!
