Why Does My Dogs Act Weird When They’re On A Leash?

Having a doggy that's leash reactive is not easy. She may be lunging at people or other dogs while you're walking her and it's difficult to manage. Not to mention it's embarrassing because you may have to pull her off to the side or pick her up, depending on how much your dog weighs and if that's possible.

Your pup may have been conditioned at a young age that other doggies can cause her harm, or, by habit reacts out of fear when other dogs are passing her while she's on a leash.

Can you blame her? When dogs are on leashes often times leash aggression takes place, which simply means a dog is fearful because they are being restrained and cannot move away from the situation on their own.

Furthermore, having their human pull on the leash to restrain them only increases the anxiety.

The good news is there are ways to help your pooch overcome leash aggression. Visit page 2 to find out what tips will help!
