A dog is like anyone who is suddenly awakened by something or someone he doesn’t want to hear or see. If they had a blanket they’d either bury their heads underneath or, if really agile, toss it over their eyes. No one wants to be jolted awake in the morning and if doggy seems a little edgy there is probably a good reason for it!

Just like the pug on the next page who is suddenly pushed out of his sleep, after a comfortable night of slumber, and told he needs to go out and do his business. It’s bad enough that the pooch is awakened but he’s also accosted with odd noises in the process. What exactly do they mean and why is Daddy using them?
