We all wish we had that perfectly trained dog. The one that is easy to teach and will do pretty much anything we ask of it. And for some of us, we do pretty well.

We teach our pup to sit, shake, lay down and our pup really seems eager and willing to do them. And when this happens, we are rightfully proud of our accomplishment.

Then it happens. A distraction hits, like the boy next door bouncing a ball or maybe a neighbor’s cat hopping our fence … Such distractions can ruin the best of behaviors.
