Have you ever seen a Blue German Shepherd? We've been German Shepherd lovers our whole lives and thought we had seen all the different color variations that existed. But recently we discovered the Blue German Shepherd and were shocked that we'd never seen them before! They add such a unique spin on the current German Shepherd color combinations and we absolutely love that!
After doing a little bit of research, we discovered that these adorable creatures can only be born if each parent has the “blue gene” in their family bloodline. Because of this, not all German Shepherd breeders are able to breed Blue Shepherds. In turn, they are considered more rare than other color variations within the German Shepherd family.
Blue German Shepherd pups often have pale blue colored eyes that beautifully compliment their gorgeous blue coat. They truly are incredible looking dogs!
