It's fascinating how dogs try to understand our English language. Many dogs can understand simple words like stay, sit, and even words like “mom” and “dad”.

Other dogs know more complex words like please, food, run, walk, etc. It's entertaining to watch a dog respond to your words and train him to understand more difficult words too.

Communicating with your pooch is important, but you need to realize he is only going to understand your vocabulary to an extent. At times, he may look at you with his puzzling puppy eyes and it will make you laugh and smile.
